White House and President’s Park — White House Minecraft map preview
Overview

This 10 km² world covers the heart of Washington, D.C.: the White House and President’s Park, the Ellipse, the Washington Monument grounds, the National Mall with its museums, the US Capitol and the downtown grid to the north. It is generated from OpenStreetMap and elevation data at one block per metre.

Buildings are footprint-and-height models. The Capitol dome comes through well; the White House itself is a simplified white block among trees, so columns, porticos and interiors are left for you. Trees, lawns and paths across the Mall are mapped, which makes the map greener than most city worlds.

Players spawn on the Washington Monument grounds, in the middle of the Mall, with the White House to the north-west and the Capitol along the Mall to the east. The wide lawns make it easy to orient and leave plenty of open space for events.

Inside the world

What’s included in the White House world

01

White House and President’s Park

The White House sits among the trees of President’s Park, next to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building and the Treasury. Buildings are generated from mapped footprints and heights, so the residence reads as a simplified white block you can detail with columns and porticos.

02

US Capitol dome

At the eastern end of the Mall the Capitol is one of the strongest generated buildings in the map, with its dome and the House and Senate wings. Use it as the far anchor of the Mall or as a goal for a long walk from spawn.

National Mall from above

From above, the 10 km² runs from the White House and the Ellipse across the Washington Monument grounds and the museum-lined Mall to the Capitol, with the Tidal Basin to the south-west and the downtown street grid to the north.

White House from another angle

From another side the residence, its lawns and the larger government buildings around it line up clearly. A good view for planning gardens, fences, or a detailed rebuild of the South Portico.

  • A well-formed Capitol dome as a long-distance landmark.
  • Huge open lawns for events, PvP arenas or farms without clearing buildings.
  • The Tidal Basin and Jefferson Memorial side on the southern edge.
